Education and Community Engagement

We have a role to play in supporting the communities that build and use THOR Industries products. We've focused on three areas where we can have the greatest impact. For young people in our hometown, we've developed an innovative and hands-on education program to introduce them to career opportunities in their own backyard in the recreational vehicle industry. For our associates, we've implemented professional development programs to help them advance their careers. Finally, we've taken a strategic approach to our philanthropic efforts and created new partnerships that will have lasting benefits for all who enjoy the outdoors.

LEAP Program

The LEAP program supports local school districts in providing applied learning and real-world experience for their students. The three curriculum levels, fifth grade, eighth grade and high school, provide students with a differentiated educational experience to meet their varying needs.

Certifications and Training

We’re providing professional development opportunities for our associates to increase their earning potential and, ultimately, build stronger communities.

Select THOR subsidiaries launched online learning and certification programs as well as a technical training academy. Combined, these programs represent an investment in our workforce, which has helped make THOR the largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles in North America.

THE FOREST RIVER/THOR Industries COMMUNITY FUND

The Forest River/THOR Industries Community Fund is designed to assist both companies’ team members in emergency situations and identify opportunities to offer financial grants of up to $20,000. These grants allow us an opportunity to give back to our team members and to help relieve some of the financial burdens they may be experiencing. To see the recent financial grant details, please see our most recent fiscal year’s sustainability report. We understand that this assistance will not take away any pain that our team members are experiencing, however, we strive to help them any way we can.

Community Engagement

Each year, we identify non-profit partners to support through direct giving. Many of the organizations we give to are doing good work in our hometowns, and we’re proud to partner with the local affiliates of national charities.

In the last six years, we’ve donated millions of dollars to more than 120 organizations and participated in numerous associate volunteer days. As we grow our business, we continually explore ways to give back to our communities.
