01 YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

Season

Open year-round, but peak season opens early April and closes late November.

Reservation

Opens on the 15th of each month at 7:00 a.m. PST.
 Reservations are available in blocks of one month, up to five months in advance.

Permits and Fees

$35 park entry fee for all RVs. Free wilderness permits are required year-round for backpacking or any other overnight stay.
 Paid trail-head reservations recommended; paid permits are required for Half Dome, administered on a lottery system.

02 REDWOOD NATIONAL & STATE PARKS

Season

Open year-round, but peak season opens mid-May and closes late September.

Reservation

Reservations are open year-round, can be made six months in advance.

Permits and Fees

$35 park entry fee for all RVs. Free backcountry permits are required year-round for backpacking or any other overnight stay.

03 DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

Season

Open year-round, but peak season opens mid-October and closes mid-April.

Reservation

Individual campsites are released on a six-month rolling basis, group campsites are released on a 12-month rolling basis.

$30 park entry fee for all RVs. Free backcountry permits are required year-round for backpacking or any other overnight stay.

04 LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK

Season

Open year-round, but peak season opens late May and closes late October.

Reservation

Individual campsites are released on a six-month rolling basis, group campsites are released on a 12-month rolling basis.

Permits and Fees

$30 park entry fee for all RVs. Free backcountry permits are required year-round for backpacking or any other overnight stay.

05 JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK

Season

Open year-round, but peak season opens mid-December and closes early May.

Reservation

Individual campsites are released on a six-month rolling basis, group campsites are released on a 12-month rolling basis.

Permits and Fees

$30 park entry fee for all RVs. Free backcountry permits are required year-round for backpacking or any other overnight stay. Paid permits are required for special paleontology hikes, administered on a lottery system.
